The magic of bubbles. No other wine region has so successfully positioned itself to represent a beverage that is seen as being ‘more than just wine’.
As a wine professional, I have spent decades endeavouring to demystify Champagne, demonstrating that the image of a product that launches ships and drenches Formula 1 drivers is not entirely helpful. This overtly celebratory image has obfuscated the fact that Champagne produces delicious, thought-provoking wines that express terroir. Unique terroir.
We will taste, discuss (and enjoy) five different expressions of Champagne from both négociant manipulant (the big houses) and récoltant manipulant (the growers).
There will be wines available to purchase on the night, at a discounted rate.
